Join Junior Master Gardeners

Looking for a free interactive, educational program for your child this summer? If you answered yes, then you’ll want to check out UW-Extension’s Junior Master Gardener (JMG) Program. It is a summer-long gardening/cooking program for youth, ages 8-12 years, that teaches them to “dig in the dirt”, care for plants, cook in the kitchen and eat healthy fruits and vegetables. Beyond gardening and cooking, your child will take field trips in the community, learn about insects and “dirt” from the experts, play fun games, and create lifelong friends (just to name a few).

Sessions are held on variable dates from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm during the school year, and then weekly from 1:00 pm -2:30 pm during the summer. Youth that attend at least 5 consecutive sessions will receive a JMG t-shirt, a field trip and certificate of completion. The JMG season begins April 5, from 4:00 pm -5:30 pm in the “Garden of Eatin” garden by the UW-Extension building (UW-Fond du Lac, 400 University Dr.). All sessions open to parents, grandparents and younger siblings accompanied by an adult. To register, please contact us at (920) 929-3171. The deadline to register is Friday, March 30.
