Photos of Culver's (969 E. Johnson, Fond du Lac): Local Energy Tour Site

Culver's building
Culver's is participating in a pilot program with Alliant Energy & Focus on Energy to help them improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Culver's owner with less expensive utility bill Culver's owner Dan Lichtenwald holds his utility bill which is now 10% than this time last year due to energy saving appliances he has installed.
Culver's kitchen
An energy savings hood system installed above the fryers senses how much is cooking in the grill and fryers and automatically speeds up or slows down the roof top fan units. Most fans run at a constant speed without regard to the level of business so they are more expensive to operate.
Ice maker
The ice machine is a high efficiency unit which is run overnight and during off peak hours to save on the power costs.
Water heater
With no burning pilot light, this low-emissions water heater uses sealed combustion technology to keep exhaust away from employees and diners. At 95% efficiency, it can heat 180 gallons of water per hour on short notice.
Booster Heater
This booster heater is a supplemental heat source for heating water for the dishwasher. This will be the next item that Culver's will replace to help energy costs.
